Strong Support

In adults with obesity, changes in IGF-1 levels during endurance exercise are not related to the degree of insulin resistance, suggesting that insulin resistance does not directly control how IGF-1 responds to this type of physical activity.

Even though people with obesity have trouble using insulin, their bodies still respond to exercise the same way as people without obesity when it comes to the active form of IGF-1 — it doesn’t go up or down during a workout. So, insulin resistance doesn’t seem to affect how IGF-1 reacts to exercise.
