When you sprint, your muscles break down a fuel called ATP very quickly. This process makes a waste product called ammonia. Six weeks of sprint training makes your muscles better at making ATP and at removing ammonia, so after training, your muscles release less ammonia into your blood. That means your blood ammonia levels stay lower after a sprint.
