Why this might work

When bad cholesterol is lowered below 55 mg/dL, it stops more fat from entering unstable fatty plaques in the artery walls. This causes existing fat inside the plaques to shrink and reduces swelling from immune cells. The plaque's outer covering thickens and becomes tougher, making it less likely to burst and trigger a blood clot that blocks the artery.
