High cortisol levels as a risk factor for athletes poor sleep quality in training centers
Case-Control Study
Human
Athletes with very high stress hormone levels (cortisol) were much more likely to have bad sleep, and this link stayed strong even when accounting for what sport they played. So high stress hormones may be a key reason why some athletes can’t sleep well.
