Taking astaxanthin supplements (a red-orange antioxidant pigment found in salmon and shrimp) every day for 1-4 months doesn't seem to make wrinkles noticeably shallower in middle-aged people, according to research that combined results from multiple clinical trials.

This study tested whether taking astaxanthin pills by mouth helps reduce wrinkles. The results show that astaxanthin did NOT significantly reduce wrinkle depth (the study found the same statistics the claim mentioned: SMD = -0.26, p=0.11). This means the study SUPPORTS the claim that oral astaxanthin doesn't significantly reduce wrinkles.
