This chemical called Gen X might cause liver, pancreas, and testicle tumors in lab animals, just like another harmful chemical people used to use.
Evidence from Studies
Supporting (1)
Community contributions welcome
GenX caused liver injury and potential hepatocellular carcinoma of mice via drinking water even at environmental concentration.
The study shows that mice drinking water with GenX developed signs of liver damage and early liver cancer, supporting the idea that GenX can cause liver tumors. However, it didn't test if it causes tumors in the pancreas or testicles, or how it compares to older chemicals like C8.
Contradicting (1)
Community contributions welcome
The study looks at how GenX affects cancer-related processes in lab-grown testicular cancer cells, but it doesn’t show that GenX actually causes tumors in animals or compare it to C8 like the claim says.
