Why this might work

When protein intake is high, amino acids from digested food flood into muscle cells, turning on a molecular switch called mTORC1. This switch tells the cell to build more muscle proteins, even when the body is getting fewer calories. The extra muscle proteins replace what would otherwise be broken down, so muscle mass stays the same or grows.
