Why this might work

In lung cancer, parts of chromosome 3 are deleted and the DNA around key genes gets chemically marked to shut them off. This turns off RASSF1A and two nearby genes that normally stop cells from dividing too fast. Without these genes, cells ignore signals to stop growing and keep dividing, allowing tumors to grow and spread from early to advanced stages.
