Why this might work

When Echium oil is consumed, the body converts its stearidonic acid into EPA, then elongates EPA into longer chains that can be converted into DHA in the liver. Ahiflower oil also produces EPA, but the liver cannot efficiently turn those longer chains into DHA because the enzyme that does this step works poorly on them. As a result, only Echium oil leads to more DHA in the liver and fat tissue, while Ahiflower oil does not.
