Why this might work

When there is already a buildup of amyloid protein in the brain, emotional stress causes the body to release stress hormones that activate immune cells in the amygdala. These immune cells become overactive and fail to clean up abnormal tau proteins, while the amygdala's high activity during stress releases more tau. The tau builds up only in the amygdala because it is especially sensitive to this combination of stress, inflammation, and poor cleanup, unlike other brain areas that also get tau early.
