Why this might work

When muscles are pushed to failure during heavy lifting, they burn through energy so fast that acid builds up inside them. This acid and the physical tearing of muscle fibers send signals to the brain and pituitary gland, which then release growth hormone and prolactin into the blood. The body does not release more testosterone or cortisol in response to this stress in trained men.
