What the research says
Supports is higher
Support is ahead, but a single strong opposing study can change this.
These are independent scores, not a percentage. Higher-grade studies count more, so a single strong opposing study can outweigh several weaker ones.
Laromestrocel stem cell therapy increases endurance and decreases frailty in older adults.
See the scientific wording
Stem cell therapy (Laromestrocel) improves endurance and reduces frailty in older adults.
Stem cells release a protein that blocks an enzyme from breaking down a key receptor on blood vessel walls. This keeps the receptor active, which strengthens blood vessels and helps more blood flow to muscle fibers that need oxygen for endurance. With better blood flow, muscles can work longer without tiring, allowing a person to walk farther.
What the research says
1 studyStudy: Randomized Phase 2b Dose-Escalation Trial of Stem Cell Therapy with Laromestrocel for Aging Frailty
In a study with older adults who were frail, those who got the stem cell treatment could walk about 63 meters farther after nine months than those who got a fake treatment — that’s like walking an extra 1.5 football fields. This means the treatment helped them be more physically strong and less frail.
