Why this might work

When men and women lift weights until they can't do another rep, men's larger muscles press harder on their blood vessels, trapping more fatigue-causing chemicals inside the muscle. Women's muscles have more tiny blood vessels that flush out those chemicals faster, so they don't get as tired. When they stop short of failure, both sexes clear the chemicals well enough that no difference shows up.
