Acute exercise ameliorates differences in insulin resistance between physically active and sedentary overweight adults
This study looked at two groups of people — one that exercises a lot and one that doesn’t — and saw that the exercisers had better insulin sensitivity. It also saw that one workout helped the non-exercisers temporarily. But it didn’t randomly assign people to exercise or not, so we can’t be sure the exercise itself caused the improvement — maybe the exercisers just eat better or sleep more.
