Molecular, neuromuscular, and recovery responses to light versus heavy resistance exercise in young men
This study compared two ways of lifting weights in 15 guys who already lift regularly. It found that both ways made their muscles react similarly in the short term, but one made them feel more tired afterward. It doesn't prove one is better for building muscle — it just shows what happened right after they lifted.
