Why this might work

In the back part of the brain that processes vision, brain cells become damaged because proteins build up inside them. Damage causes these cells to send slower and weaker signals, which shows up as slower brain waves. This damage spread to other brain areas, making memory and thinking problems worse, so that within two years a person with mild cognitive impairment moves to full Alzheimer's disease.
