The Claim
Consuming gelatin supplemented with Limosilactobacillus fermentum UCO-979C at a dose of at least 10^7 CFU/mL, five days per week for 12 weeks, prevents new Helicobacter pylori infections in healthy young adults aged 18–30 years, reducing infection incidence from 34.2% in the placebo group to 2.7% in the probiotic group, corresponding to a 92.6% efficacy rate.
What the research says
Supports is higher
Support is ahead, but a single strong opposing study can change this.
These are independent scores, not a percentage. Higher-grade studies count more, so a single strong opposing study can outweigh several weaker ones.
In healthy adults aged 18–30, taking a specific probiotic supplement in gelatin five days a week for 12 weeks reduces the rate of new Helicobacter pylori infections from 34.2% to 2.7%.

Consuming gelatin supplemented with the probiotic strain Limosilactobacillus fermentum UCO-979C at a dose of at least 10^7 CFU/mL, five days per week for 12 weeks, prevents new Helicobacter pylori infections in healthy young adults aged 18–30 years, reducing infection incidence from 34.2% in the placebo group to 2.7% in the probiotic group, corresponding to a 92.6% efficacy rate.
The probiotic bacteria produce acid in the stomach, making the environment too harsh for H. pylori to survive. At the same time, the probiotic sticks to the stomach lining, blocking H. pylori from attaching and taking hold.
What the research says
1 studyThis study found that eating a special probiotic gelatin every day for 12 weeks helped healthy young adults avoid getting a stomach bacteria called H. pylori — only 3 out of 100 got infected with the gelatin, compared to 34 out of 100 without it.
