The Claim
Oral supplementation with a nonliposomal formulation containing 50 mL/day of fish-derived collagen tripeptides, yeast extract, hyaluronic acid, and resveratrol for 8 weeks improves skin elasticity and hydration in healthy adults aged 25–65 and does not significantly reduce wrinkle area.
What the research says
Challenges is higher
Challenge is ahead, but a single strong supporting study can change this.
These are independent scores, not a percentage. Higher-grade studies count more, so a single strong opposing study can outweigh several weaker ones.
Taking a daily oral supplement containing 50 mL of a mixture of fish-derived collagen tripeptides, yeast extract, hyaluronic acid, and resveratrol for 8 weeks increases skin elasticity and hydration in healthy adults aged 25–65, without significantly reducing wrinkle area.

When you swallow collagen tripeptides, they survive digestion and enter the bloodstream. They reach the skin and tell fibroblast cells to make more collagen and elastin, which are the structural fibers that keep skin firm and stretchy. At the same time, the supplement increases the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid, which holds water and plumps the skin. This makes the skin more elastic and hydrated, but the amount of new fiber growth is not enough to smooth out deep wrinkles.
What the research says
1 studyThis study tested two versions of the supplement: one with a special coating (liposomal) and one without. The version without the coating improved skin moisture and firmness but didn’t reduce wrinkles — which matches the claim. But the coated version worked better overall, so the lack of wrinkle reduction might be because it wasn’t delivered well, not because the ingredients don’t work.
