The Claim
Daily supplementation with 100 mg of standardized Asparagus racemosus root extract (CL22209) for 84 days in women with polycystic ovary syndrome resulted in statistically significant but modest reductions in body weight (2.89%), waist circumference (2.15%), and hip circumference (1.69%) compared to placebo, although these changes may be below the threshold for clinical meaningfulness.
What the research says
Supports is higher
Support is ahead, but a single strong opposing study can change this.
These are independent scores, not a percentage. Higher-grade studies count more, so a single strong opposing study can outweigh several weaker ones.
In women with polycystic ovary syndrome, taking 100 mg of asparagus root extract daily for 84 days reduces body weight, waist, and hip measurements compared to a placebo, but the reductions are modest.

The asparagus extract makes the body better at using insulin. When insulin works better, the body needs less of it. Lower insulin and lower male hormones tell fat cells to release fat instead of storing it, especially around the belly and hips. This leads to lower body weight and smaller waist and hip measurements.
What the research says
1 studyThe study tested the exact same asparagus extract in women with PCOS and found they lost a little weight and had slightly smaller waist and hips, just like the claim says.
